This beautiful sterling silver ring by Apache artist, Rosella Paxson, features five gorgeous pieces of saturated orange spiny oyster shell arranged in a fashion that seems to exude a feeling of a compass, thus being aware of four distinct directions. Each carefully set shell is adorned with Rosella’s signature wire work and shot accents. The face measures 2-1/8 inches tall by 2-1/8 inches wide. While the 6mm wide fixed (non-adjustable) shank sits at the 10 on our mandrel, it could easily be comfortable on a 9.5 as well, particularly if you feel constricted by thick ring shanks.
*NATIVE MADE*
Rosella S. Paxson is originally from Whiteriver, AZ but currently resides in Albuquerque, NM. She is a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe on the Ft Apache Reservation. When we asked her about her craft recently, she was very humble, but she said “I have been silversmithing for over 20 years, and enjoy every minute of it... making a piece of jewelry and putting your thoughts of design into the piece you’re making whether it's earrings, rings, bracelets or pendants….it's unique...I am thankful and blessed to have become a silversmith.”
Actual colors may vary slightly due to lighting, screen display and/or the way color is seen by an individual.
Handcrafted/Handmade work is unique in its design, which means that imperfections will most often be part of an item’s character. Inconsistencies will occur by nature, which makes each piece truly one of a kind; an artist is not a machine.
This listing is for the item named in the title only. Additional photo props or styling pieces are not included.
