Nizhoni Traders LLC is a family business with more than 50 years of history in buying and selling jewelry as well as other desirable goods. We strive to consistently evolve with the growth and progress of the jewelry industry on our websites and social media platforms so we can continue to provide our community with beautifully crafted accessories.
In the interest of transparency, we would like to address particular details of products listed on our websites. The Indian Arts and Crafts Act (IACA) of 1990 makes it illegal to misrepresent products as being "Indian produced" when they are not made by a member of a federally or state-recognized tribe or a certified Indian artisan. The proof of tribal membership is what allows an artisan to legally sell their work as "Native American" or "Indian-made." Unfortunately, we are not always provided with proof of tribal membership when we acquire Native American jewelry for resale. Therefore, while we may offer photographs and descriptions of existing hallmarks and initials on listed pieces, you will no longer find tribal affiliations stated in our listings. Additionally, to comply with the IACA on products (including machine made and handcrafted sterling silver beads), we may use qualified text, such as "Native American inspired," or “Navajo Style” in listing descriptions. We encourage you to do your own research on artist marks and signatures to keep yourself informed and please remember to always read our product descriptions.
We look forward to continuing to bring you a wide array of wearable art and invite you to reach out with any questions you may have.
